Calvary Christian Academy (CCA) is a non-profit private school located in Cresaptown, Maryland in Allegany County.[5] It was established as an outreach of Calvary Baptist Church of Cresaptown in 1973.[2]

Purpose

Calvary Christian Academy is a school that has classes for grades PreK3 through 12th Grade. A full-time daycare is also operated all year. The School is accredited with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools[6] and the Association of Christian Schools International.[7] The daycare is licensed through the State of Maryland Department of Child Care.[8]

Athletics

The high school fields teams in seven sports throughout the year. For fall there is boys’ soccer, girls’ volleyball, and a cross country team. In winter there is boys’ and girls’ basketball and bowling as well as a cheerleading team. In spring there is boys’ baseball and girls’ soccer as well as a track and field team.

CCA is a member of the Mason Dixon Christian Conference for baseball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball;[9] the bowling team completes in the Allegany County Interscholastic Bowling League.[10] The CCA volleyball team won the MDCC championship in 2013 and Maryland Christian School Champion for 2013. The CCA volleyball program has placed in the top 3 of the MDCC since 2011.

The middle school (grades 6–8) fields teams in the local JCP soccer league in the fall and the Tri-County League for basketball in the winter. The elementary school fields soccer teams in two JCP JV leagues for grades K–2 and grades 3–5.
