Courtney Fortune is an American singer-songwriter from Seattle, Washington.
Career
A native of Seattle, Fortune began cultivating her crossover style at an early age while performing at cabaret clubs and rock venues around town. She performed across Japan and the UK,[1] before moving to Los Angeles, where she attended and graduated from the University of Southern California.
In 2009 Fortune met seven-time Grammy nominated producer/arranger Chris Walden. Together they released her debut jazz album, Speak Love. She also performed as featured vocalist of the Chris Walden Big Band.[2] Fortune received the Brian Wilson Musical Achievement Award from the University of Southern California and was named one of the "Top Ten College Women of the Year" by Glamour.[3]
In November 2013 she performed at TEDx in Manhattan Beach.[4]
Fortune has been recognized by MTV, the John Lennon Foundation, Genlux magazine, and has performed with Garrison Keillor of A Prairie Home Companion.[5]
