Evert Ellsworth Sparks (September 10, 1879 – May 11, 1972) was a provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1921 to 1930 sitting with the United Farmers caucus in government.
Political career
Sparks ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1921 Alberta general election. He ran as a United Farmers candidate in a two way race against Liberal incumbent Hugh John Montgomery in the Wetaskiwin provincial electoral district. Sparks won the straight fight by a comfortable margin to pick up the district for his party.[2]
Sparks ran for a second term in the 1926 Alberta general election. He faced a three way race, but his primary opponent was Montgomery. The race was hotly contested with Sparks winning it in the second count.[3]
Sparks ran for a third term in office in the 1930 Alberta general election. He was defeated by Montgomery who won a comfortable majority to reclaim his seat in the two way race.[4]
