Fanfare-Rondeau is a classical rondeau from the first Suite de Symphonies by the French composer Jean-Joseph Mouret.

History

It was written in 1729,[1] It is a work of French Baroque music,[2]

Legacy

It is well known as the theme from Masterpiece Theatre,[3] and remains popular at weddings,[4]

In 2008, the first four episodes of Boing Boing Video's SPAMasterpiece Theater opened with a chiptune remix of Jean-Joseph Mouret's "Rondeau: Fanfare" by Hamhocks Buttermilk Johnson as a parody of Masterpiece Theatre.[5][6][7][8][9][10] [11] [12]
