Howard W. Peak was the mayor of San Antonio, Texas from 1997 to 2001. He was succeeded by Ed Garza.^[2]

Among his accomplishments was the development of a system of greenway trails for the city,^[3] which was named in his honor after his tenure as mayor.^[4]^[5]^[6]
