Dr Martin Edobor FRSA (born 4 June 1989) is the former Chair of the Young Fabians, NHS Junior doctor and British Labour Party activist.

Background

Edobor gained a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology from University College London and MBBS, in Medicine from University College London Medical School graduating in 2010 and 2013 respectively, he then worked as a Junior doctor in the East Midlands and London. He later returned to University College London to study an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics of Health

He has been a member of the Young Fabian Executive since 2012, having held roles including Vice Chair in 2014/2015 and Treasurer 2013/14.[1] In November 2011, he founded the Young Fabians Health Network, and as Chair of the network he co-authored the pamphlets Irreversible[2] and Closing the Gap.[3] As Chair of the Young Fabians he has helped to expand the Young Fabian Networks, increasing the number from five to seven, with the addition of a Technology Network and Law Network.

Edobor writes regularly for the grass-roots Labour blog Labour list,[4] Huffington Post,[5] and Progress Online.[6] He is a former local authority school governor at Southern Road Primary School.

In 2014 Martin was named as “One to Watch” by Voice magazine,[7] alongside Anthony Joshua, Helen Oyeyemi and Ella Eyre. He is a member of the Co-operative party, the GMB and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
