Synechogobius is a genus of fish in the goby family, Gobiidae. They are native to fresh, marine and brackish waters along the Pacific coasts of China, Japan and Korea.[1] S. hasta is an edible species of commercial importance.[2]

There are currently two recognized species in this genus:[1]
- Synechogobius hasta (Temminck & Schlegel, 1845) (Javelin goby[3])
- Synechogobius ommaturus (J. Richardson, 1845) (Asian freshwater goby,[1] spottedtail goby[4])
