Xanthotaenia is a butterfly genus[2] consisting of a single species, Xanthotaenia busiris. They can be identified by a yellow strip along their forewings. Their vernacular name is the yellow-banded nymph.[3]
Behavior
The larvae feed on Calamus, while adults spend most of their lives at ground level usually near ginger, around Faunis canens. It is semi-crepuscular in behavior.[4]
Distribution
The Xanthotaenia is primarily found around Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo, in tropical rainforests at elevations between 100-300m.
